Acupuncture & Electroacupuncture
Acupuncture as a part of traditional Chinese medicine involves the use of thin, sharp needles inserted at specific points in the body to direct the bodies energy flow into a healthier pattern. It has been shown to treat a wide variety of illnesses and health conditions.
Electroacupuncture is quite similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment. As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. This is especially useful for treating conditions related to chronic pain, and can add extra stimulation to any acupuncture treatment. More recently electroacupuncture has been used to treat acute and chronic injuries and sports related injuries.
